Flat monthly plans. Both limits count real printers and real prints, in live mode and test mode alike. The virtual test printer is free and unlimited on every plan, because that is where you build, and so are your first two real printers in test mode, because that is how you check the integration against hardware before you go live.

Questions

What counts as a job?
One accepted POST /v1/jobs that reaches a real printer, in either mode. Copies of the same job do not count extra, and jobs sent to the virtual test printer never count at all: simulate as much as you like, for free, forever.
Why does a test-mode job count?
Because paper does not know what mode it was printed in. Test mode keeps your sample prints in a separate pool so a printer you are experimenting with can never show up in your production fleet, and that separation stays free. What costs money is a real machine and a real print, wherever you put it. Your first two real printers in test mode do not count toward the device limit, so checking against hardware costs you nothing.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The free plan is the trial: sign up, enroll a machine, print.
What happens when I hit the cap?
New jobs to real printers are rejected with HTTP 402 and a message naming your plan and reset date, jobs to the virtual test printer keep working, and enrolling past the device limit is rejected the same way. There is no silent overage billing: "upgrade to keep printing" is a failure mode you can see, and one your monitoring can catch. You get an email at 80% of the monthly job limit, and the dashboard shows a usage meter.
What if I downgrade or cancel?
Nothing is deleted. Devices already enrolled stay enrolled. You just cannot add more past the new limit, and the monthly job cap applies from then on.
How do I change plans?
From the dashboard, through Stripe's hosted portal: upgrades, downgrades, cancellation, card updates, and invoice history all live there.
Do you have an SLA?
Not a contractual one on the self-serve plans. Enterprise accounts are invoiced directly, so get in touch and we will talk specifics.
